About us
Redan Online was formed in August 2003 and is owned and operated by Martin and Sarah Wale with their daughter Sallie Lakin, a family team.
Martin and Sallie have extensive experience of web design, internet technology, retail business, graphic art, communication, photography, customer service and advertising.
Martin has extensive expertise in internet technology and Sallie has a background in layout and design. This combination works well to ensure that your website will be easy to use and have the maximum impact on your prospective customers and users.
Sarah provides editorial services and technical writing skills.
Martin Wale
Born
in the UK in 1946, Martin has an honours degree in electrical engineering
and has spent much of his working life as a consulting engineer in the
UK, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Hong Kong. Having changed career
at the end of 1991, Martin returned to the UK to spend most of his time
in the classical music business, running Seaford Music with his wife Sarah,
where he started developing their comprehensive online store in 1997.
With the considerable success of that enterprise, he was asked to design
and maintain websites for a number of other businesses in the UK.
Having moved to New Zealand in August 2003, Martin is now a New Zealand citizen and devotes most of his time to Redan Online. He remains a chartered engineer and active as a Fellow of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (formerly the IEE) and is actively involved in Doubtless Bay Promotion Inc.
Sallie Lakin
Born
in the UK in 1975, Sallie moved to New Zealand in 1997 and is now a New
Zealand citizen. She is currently providing specialist website services
for a major tertiary education provider, responsible for all of the content
of their web and intranet sites.
In addition Sallie owns, with her Kiwi husband Paul, Redan Auto Electrical in Kaitaia and Cruise the Blue in Doubtless Bay. She is a PADI-qualified and highly experienced master scuba diving instructor.
Sarah Wale
Sarah,
our Editorial Consultant, is a writer, editor and proof-reader. She was
born in the UK in 1949 and is now a New Zealand citizen. She specialises
in the editing of technical documents, instruction manuals, information
brochures, pamphlets and other publications in plain English, so that
they are easily understood by the layman or those for whom English is
not their first language.
Sarah has worked successfully with a Territorial Authority to streamline their Building Consent and Resource Consent documentation by simplifying application forms, writing clear, concise guidance notes for those completing the forms - both building professionals and the layman.
