Seaford Music was established at 24 Pevensey Road, Eastbourne,
East Sussex in 1982 by Brian Robins and Anne Young who moved the store
from Dane Road in Seaford. It was then owned by Martin and Sarah Wale
from the beginning of 1992. They sold it to the Newingtons group in February
2003 on their retirement to New Zealand.
From 1st April 2003 the group became known as Brittens
MUSIC Ltd. Other shops in the group included Brittens
MUSIC at West Byfleet, Surrey and Brittens
MUSIC at Tunbridge Wells, Kent. The Eastbourne store ceased to
trade in July 2005
At Seaford
Music , we were Classical Music specialists dealing in:
- Compact Discs and Audio Cassettes, both retail and trade (Seaford Music Distribution); with an emphasis on searching out hard to find and import discs
We were a founder member of ICMR (Independent Classical Music Retailers).
We were also founder members of ABCD (Association of British Classical Distributors), members of BARD (British Association of Record Dealers) and members of the Eastbourne and District Chamber of Commerce.
You were very welcome to visit us here in Eastbourne in sunny "Sussex by the Sea" on the south coast of England, situated on the edge of the South Downs and close to Beachy Head. Our store was located between the train station and the pier. From the station, walk down the main shopping street, Terminus Road, towards the sea front. Turn left at the end of Debenham's store into Pevensey Road and we were on the left-hand side.
From the pier, walk, or drive, inland along Cavendish Place. Cross Seaside Road and at the next junction turn left into Pevensey Road and we were on the right-hand side. If you are lucky, there is free parking in Pevensey Road!

Whenever you were in the area a warm welcome awaited you! We were normally open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., Monday to Friday, and from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Saturdays.
